Always my favorite place in the world to go. I have been camping here since I was 3 months old. 50 years later still go. My dad's been coming since the lake was created. Always wonderful memories.
There isn't any shade trees and it's boon docking. There is fill and dump as soon as you enter. We chose to boondock at the lower Kern River next to the water by a big tree. We fished, prospect and watch a bunch of rafters go by. Everyone was in the water swimming on Saturday.
This lake is very large, driving through the streets, it took us about 1 hour to finish driving through everything. There were people taking their boats and jet skis. It was nice that people arrived with food and meat to roast.
There aren't any shade trees anywhere and it's basically boondocking. There is a fill and dump as soon as you enter. It was very windy the past few days and glad we chose to boon dock at the lower Kern River. We had a spot near the river under the trees. We caught fish, prospect and watched the rafters go by.
Great spot to camp or enjoy a relaxing view of the lake and nature surrounding. Very serene
