Customer Reviews
My first time here went with a friend. She knew the trails, but without her, I would have been lost. Her recommendation was to download the All Trails app for TN parks. This was a challenging trail for me, I am used to paved trails and clear signs, I am a City girl. We climbed down some steep hills and rocky trails. One point I had to sit on rocks to climb down but the views were beautiful. I am sure there were easier ways to get around, I did see older couples with dogs, so I am guessing some parts of the trails are easier than others. Lots of places for beautiful photos. Worth it.
I visited today 1/17/25 for the first time. Trails are extremely muddy and slippery from the melted snow. My boots were caked. The park is kept very clean. Museum is small but cute addition (bathrooms inside). The trails aren’t marked super well imo but I started on the right side and after hiking for about 1-1.5hr was back at the parking lot. Beautiful waterfalls I believe I saw 4. I would come back if I lived closer! Felt safe as a solo female as it was decently busy for a Friday afternoon.
Beautiful trails with waterfalls! It also has a very interesting museum to visit! We got lucky and met an amazing parrot while we were visiting! Highly recommend!
Nice hike, and we learned a lot by taking our time and reading the different signs. The trails along the river are very uneven and have a lot of roots that you can trip on. But as long as you're paying attention they're just fine the hike on. We were there in the late fall and it was kind of nice because you could see the river down between the trees. We must not have been looking in the right place because we didn't really see any ancient stone walls. We did see the mounds around the edge of the cliffs and trail. We look forward to coming back in the summer and going down to the river.
This is a wonderful park to explore some hiking trails and learn about the history of the area. You have a museum on site that has a video you can watch and posters around the building to see and read. The waterfalls are amazing and worth it to go just to see them in person.
