⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a sensational afternoon as a family! All the kids rode their bikes on the trails, and then I had a blast on my own exploring the technical lines. I love this park because it offers a bit of everything — great trails, fun challenges, and beautiful scenery. I still need to adventure out on a kayak, but I can’t wait to try it next time! Highly recommended for family fun and solo adventures alike.
I really wanted to like this park, but I soon found that instead of a nice peaceful serene trail and lake, it felt more like a tourist trap festering with screaming bratty toddlers who smelled like feet. We first went to rent a canoe (which took forever to get since the lines were so long) and even when we finally began canoeing, it was cut short since the lake was overcrowded with toddlers and kids who barely knew what they were doing (I have no idea what would possess someone to give a toddler their own boat). We then rented bicycles (which also took a bit long, even though there was no line). The bikes were somewhat old and the handles were sticky, like kids who don't wash their hands were touching them (gee I wonder why). The bike paths were confusing to navigate and the paths that looked the most bikable were often closed off for staff only. So we basically either were biking next to the parking lot, or into a bunch of bumpy dead-ends and BBQ camp areas. The shrieks of the kids in the boats could also be heard along all the biking paths. There was literally no escape from it unless you biked near the park's exit. I gave this park three stars instead of one since it had nice scenery---but the people ruined it. Also note: in order to purchase the kayak and bike rentals, you need to go into this little building which smells of dirty diapers and old feet, and the scent bleeds into your clothes. Make sure to bring a second shirt to change into.
The park is really big and beautiful! There are a lot of activities to do with family and friends! I did kayak and it was really nice, plus there is like a hidden beach inside the park with calm water. I would love to go again and try the bike trail trough the river!
Great place to fish and be a part of the wild along with great place to swim and to bring along food and grill and use the tables and gazebos with your family.. the staff is very helpful at the entrance and the park is always clean and the staff is always present within the park if you have a question or an issue.. great place to take your family and spend time on holidays along with them 😊 I highly recommend it for any holiday or anytime a person just wants to get away and and enjoy themselves with the wilderness
My review is for our cabin stay. The cabin is bare bones: bed frame, mattress, AC unit, lights, trash can, broom, dustpan and electrical outlets. The mattresses are comfortable and the cover is plastic so I was able to wipe it off with Lysol. I took one star off my review because the cabin was super dirty. The floor was not broomed (not sure when it was last mopped!!!) and it had trash from previous resident. I had supplies so I cleaned and scrubbed the place up as we stayed multiple nights. The no-see-ums / bugs were brutal at dusk around the cabin area. You go to the cabin for sleeping only. Restroom and hot showers are in a nearby building that you can access with a key only. Do not leave trash/ food outside or even an empty trash can, as raccoons are very aggressive when they think they can get food.
