Stayed here over the weekend and did our first ever poker run it was a tad confusing at first but we got the hang of it and it was super fun! There’s a lot for the kids to do(jumping pillow, playgrounds, fishing pond and swimming pond) also when we left it looked like they were putting in a basketball court although I could be mistaken. The little office/camp store had friendly staff along with good ice cream! I didn’t get a chance to check out the bar while there but will next time around! Overall it was a good experience seasonal people are super friendly and we love that we could bring our golf cart!!
There are so many improvements happening at this campground since new ownership. New basketball court going in now as well. Some of my favorite things: The FOOD!!!! I’m not sure where the burgers come from but they’re the BEST! Many themed weekends, the poker run, minnow races, Easter egg hunts, Halloween and Hawaiian weekends are so much fun! It is very family oriented, my kids love it. Kids crafts and the events listed above. The swimming pond is awesome, the kids LOVE that they can play in the waterfall. There are a few playgrounds that were recently updated. The arcade is another fun thing for the rainy days. There are trails to hike and see the wildlife, there are so many deer that don’t seem to be spooked by people at all. The frog pond is another hit! They love to catch them, it’s so funny to watch! Lots of live music & DJ’s. Very clean, very friendly staff. Golf carts for rent, not allowed on the back trails. The rules are pretty basic for a campground, very simple to understand and follow. Highly highly recommend, it’s our favorite place!
Felt really misled by the website. We booked a site based on availability and looking at the map. 1. Had I known it was in the field with zero trees, we never would’ve booked. 2. Sites in the field are super cramped. 3. The paper map needs the street names, was confusing to drive through to the field. I feel if you could get a site that’s actually pictured, it would have been better and more comfortable as there are trees and not so cramped. We don’t have kids, we camp to get away from all the noise and hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy nature. If we were young enough to have kids, this would definitely be a good place to go. We enjoyed the trails for walking and the food was good in the restaurant was good. But after having to sit in the camper to get away from the sun Saturday caused us to pack up and leave.
We moved in at the end of last season. After 25 years at a campground that used to feel like family, we’re thrilled to have moved to a campground that feels like family once again!!! The owners, the staff, the campground itself just brings me back to a place where our grandchildren can grow and flourish just like our children did once upon a time ago!! Thank you for bringing me back home!!
Camper friendly, tent sites are limited and are tucked in odd locations and limited trees. Very quiet during the week.. great for Bay mountain trail. Remember your state trail passes😀
