Small campground with individual camping sites. Good for tent camping, although having a recreational vehicle is likely going to be a better option. They do have a dumping station on site. You can go online to reserve the spots even booking them several months in advance. One can't help but compare this venue with O'Neill Regional Park which is also located within Orange County. While I feel that this is the lesser of the two campgrounds, it's still worthy of a drive-by to check it out.

this is a great campsite! Ronald Caspers Regional Park is far enough from civilization to see some serious stars but close enough to run and get pizza for dinner and coffee for breakfast. try and get a campsite as far from Ortega highway as possible. 4 stars because of the road noise they haven’t had water for the past 6 months. we camped here summer and winter 2021, and just visited today January 2022. Some equestrian group came through some months ago and emptied their reservoir and left nothing for everyone else. nature center has great info on the park and helpful informative staff. the playground and the nature walk are perfect for kids. no pets allowed.

UPDATE 08-17-23 We are back again this time in spot #10 this shade is perfect! Water is still running in mid April in the creek I haven't seen this in quite a few years. We love this campground and stay as often as we can.

Great affordable place to camp in Orange County. Removed 1 star due to there being no water at the park. So you cannot fill up water or use the dump stations. The staff at the front desk are not very nice. Plug ins for 110, 30a, and 50a. Two week maximum stay at a time.

One of several campgrounds in Casper Wilderness Park, Ortega Flats is the closest one to the highway, and accordingly you’ll hear a decent amount of road noise here. Sites have electricity and water hookups, and restrooms are of the porta-potty variety. Not a perfect campground, but with only about a dozen sites, you won’t feel too crammed in.
