While the area retains its wild character, demanding respect for wildlife (one guest reported a large bear wandered by twice, highly interested in a cooler), this simply adds to the authenticity of the experience—a true reminder that you are a guest in the wild heart of Minnesota.
This location is perfect for the self-sufficient local camper who understands and adheres to primitive camping ethics and "bear country" precautions. It’s an easy-to-access gateway to fishing, canoeing, and soaking in the beautiful, mosquito-filled, but ultimately rewarding, Minnesota summer.

Beautiful site on Lake Osier, the only campsite I believe. A bit buggy, but that's to be expected. Hang a bear bag or keep food in your car when not cooking or eating! A large bear wandered by twice during the night and was highly interested in our cooler. Otherwise, nice spot!
Very pretty spot.
