Been coming for almost 5 years...beautiful campground....love it..especially off season!
Beautiful and well maintained. ~400 lots. I was in 382 and it came with a view. No electricity where I was camped. Every lot appears to be surrounded in green, so fairly private feeling. You need to buy firewood at the front station. Nice people.
Sites are big enough for a family and private enough to not feel like you are in someone else's area. The only complaint would be the restroom and showers are not serviced daily, and it shows.
Great campground for us, it's close. There are lots of trails and places to hike. Going during the weekdays is nice, as it's not crowded.
We spend a lot of time camping here and at other wisconsin state parks - it seems like all the other parks are getting updates and money spent on them, and this one is forgotten. The experience continues to dwindle, bathroom facilities are falling apart, cleanliness is subpar, site maintenance is poor, picnic tables rotting in decay, poison ivy all around the perimeter of the sites, large patches of grass-less areas in the site that turn to mud when it rains. This has always been a favorite of ours, and it's quickly becoming a "we'll try and reserve anywhere else first" place.
