Our first camping experience was great and a success! Definitely recommended for small or big campers! They were nice to let us come after hours. We had no issues at all!
Clean facilities, lots of space, and the spring is absolutely amazing when you visit during the warmer months. There are lots of available camping spots and some cabins for rent on the property as well. If you want to book a stay during a holiday I'd advise booking well in advance because they rent out quickly. The folks that I've encountered that work there are always friendly and are quick to help with information about the surrounding areas if they can.
The stilt house is the perfect disconnect from the hustle and constant presence of everyday life. It is a wonderful way to bring your family back together and do the most important thing in life, build memories! There is zero phone reception for the most part. You may get luck and find a spot here or there to give you at most two bars. I love this ! There is no TV. So I do bring my projector to have a movie under the stars. You do need to download any books/ movies pre-hand to showing up here. They have a stove and refrigerator and microwave. I will say the toaster is on the way out it took three times per toast to get it light brown. You do need to bring your own cleaning supplies, bathing " they do have towels for you ", if you're like us and have a larger family bring pots and pans it looks like at one point they had a good amount, just not any longer. Great hiking and kayaking! My kids love their little park. They do have a very small store if you need small supplies.. you are expected to clean the house before checking out, which is 1 p.m., so that's awesome! They worked with us on an early check-in at noon, normal it's 4 pm. I hope you have a go at this wonderful place... see you soon stilt house!
We camped at this park for 2 days. It was a good experience. The spots were a good size with full hookups. The shower rooms looked clean . There’s an indoor pool that was open but nobody used it. The spring was flooded from too much rain.
We just recently spent an extended weekend at Otter Springs. All in all we are giving this campground a 3 out of 5. When we called 3 weeks ahead to book I spoke to the front desk lady for a long while and booked a site right by the playground (site 77), perfect for us as we have 2 young kiddos. When she gave me the total it was much higher than expected and we were told they no longer offer winter prices and they charged us their summer rate of 35$ a night (still cheap we didn’t fuse) but their website is not up to date. Upon arrival they gave us our camp packet with a completely different site number (site 11) , we tried to correct this and they told us someone was placed in our spot that we had reserved and now it’s unavailable, we did not get notification of this change via call or email. They put us all the way in the back of the campground, pretty far away from the playground and the site was A MESS!! Large tree limbs laying all over the site. We helped in cleaning it up by cutting up the branches and burning them throughout the weekend. Saturday morning we had 2 workers come into our site while we were sitting at the picnic table having breakfast to fix a post that laying on the ground complaining and using heavy profanity around our kids. They also mentioned how the people in our site before us left it a mess (we thought it was because of the hurricane no big deal but the workers knew the site was a mess and didn’t clean it, came by complained to us about it and left it there for us anyhow) The lady in the office also told us the pool heater was fixed and ready to swim (it was not, it was so cold we couldn’t get in). Playground is cute and the kids enjoyed it. Roads were thick sugar sand so biking was not the easiest but we made due and enjoyed our weekend best we could. Not sure we will return. Im sure they see lots of traffic due to the beautiful springs but as for the campground itself it’s very sad to see a place with such potential putting in the bare minimum effort.
