Outlet Park Campground Loop A is located in the beautiful, natural 'Outlet Area' of the Melvern Lake Project, found on the eastern edge of the scenic Flint Hills region. The official address for the area is **Outlet Area, Melvern, KS 66510, USA**.
The campground is strategically positioned below the main lake's dam, which creates the peaceful and separate body of water known as the Melvern River Pond. Access to the park is generally straightforward, being located a manageable distance from major Kansas cities. ### What is Worth Choosing Loop A at Outlet Park
Choosing Loop A at Outlet Park Campground is particularly worthwhile for Kansas users who are looking for a generous, classic camping experience with essential modern utilities. While the park’s other loops may offer full sewer hookups, Loop A provides a perfect balance of utility and tranquility, making it a highly attractive option.
The primary reason to choose Loop A is its focus on **spacious, well-maintained water and electric sites** that are crucial for a comfortable stay, without the typically higher cost or density of full hookup areas. You get immediate, easy access to the highly-praised, well-kept trails around the River Pond—ideal for that morning run or evening stroll. Furthermore, you are right by the excellent, specialized fishing pond.
The overall grounds are consistently recognized for being impeccably kept, and the on-site modern facilities, including clean bathhouses and laundry, mean you aren't truly "roughing it." Beautiful campground. Great fishing. Lots were spacious and the suspension bridge was great.
I didn't actually stay here. I stopped to run the loop, the trail around the outlet is very well kept and was very nice. I would recommend walking or running this area if you have the chance. But the grounds for camping looked outstanding, inviting, and very well kept up. The facilities were Locked so I can't speak to if they were clean or not.
This was a great place to camp. Our spot was right on the Outlet lake. We had a great view of the water from our camper and from the firepit. There was plenty of space to spread out and the walking trail took you around the whole lake.
Nice find! Quiet, shady, lake, clean, ample space between sites, full hookups, and very reasonably priced, ..what more can you ask for in Kansas? :)
Bathrooms a place for RVs and tents fishing available. Very clean
