Outside Design Nature Hotel

One of the most underrated places in Colorado. We have visited 2x now, once mid summer and once mid January - both were spectacular for different reasons. We love how it feels remote but also boujee at the same time. Especially love that for just a very small fee we can bring our dogs with us, we don't typically travel inside the state to a place not dog friendly! We will be back many more times!

This is a hidden gem! This place is incredible. The skylight chalet was perfect for our family of 3 (and close to the west bathroom which was great, especially with a kid). The outdoor bed was so relaxing and lovely to lay on. The bath house was very clean and well kept. We had an awesome time on the nature walk as well - really gorgeous.Totally worth a stay if you’re in the area. We will absolutely be back!

Will definitely stay here again! Gorgeous property. I came here because the price was right compared to the hotels within an hour distance. Nature setting and still got to work while using Wi-Fi. Also got to enjoy the sauna! They seemed to be making more bungalows! Can't wait to come back and experience the others.

We loved our cabin- Skylight Chalet but a few things could have made our stay perfect & a five star experience. We booked the cabin knowing the convenience of being near the small bathroom only to find out that it was closed for the winter & that our cabin wouldn’t have running water either. It would have been nice to have water provided in the cabin or at least told this prior to our arrival so we could have brought our own. Also, the cabin was not restocked with basic necessities which we had to replenish such as paper towels. This may seem like small things but we are avid “glampers” that appreciate the small things not being overlooked.

We stayed for two nights in the hammock hut while passing through to visit Salida and Sand Dunes National Park. Our stay was incredible. Laying on the hammock with a blanket at night (we stayed in early May) and watching the stars through the glass roof above our bed was dreamy. The bath house was exceptionally clean and exceeded our expectations. We loved using the sauna and cold plunge to start our morning followed by a warm cup of organic coffee made with reverse osmosis water on tap (in bath house). Highly recommend staying here.

What an extraordinarily beautiful place. The Glass Greenhouse was a comfy, bright spot to return to after days of hiking and exploring. The sauna is delightful, the bath house pristine and well-stocked. We can't wait to come back.

We stayed in July of 2024 and absolutely loved it. We were in the North Peak View of the Deckhouse and fit two people and two dogs - it was cozy!! The space was gorgeous and thoughtfully designed. The walk to the bath house was easy going and the bath rooms were very very nice. We enjoyed the on site trails with our pups and Salida is one of our most favorite mountain towns. We will be back to outside Design (but probably in a larger cabin:)

Perfect short stay. The dry cabin has mini fridge, set of utensils, record player, dog mat, heating and cooling system, and a few other items. The bath house was clean and had hot water. The coffee bar was well stocked and there is a water refill area in the kitchen. The onsite walking path was very nice. The bed and pillows were clean and very comfortable. The host did a great job giving local options of food and activities. But there is truly nothing better than sitting in the silence looking at the stars.

Stopped in here early May for a night stay. This place is the most glamping experience you’ll ever have. It was wonderful, sauna was nice, aframe was beautiful. Two hot tubs clean amenities. Easy to find and just 15-20 from salida it was so beautiful. Will stop in when I’m around next. Worth every penny. I highly recommend.
