Absolutely magical spot not far from Santa Fe (40 min ) We had the whole campsite for us ...no people around ,gourges fews ..snow coverd mountains and overlooking a small lake ...great hiking to the lake . One toilet..clean..no water...great cell reception...$9 per night ....totally worth it ..a jewel
This place is magical. Beautiful views and trails and a sweet creek above the lake, if you want to do some rugged walking. The toilets are clean and the trails are absolutely gorgeous. Ide remind campers to pack out what you pack in. We dont mind picking up litter but were surprised at the lack of consciousness of campers and locals who think its ok to just drop their garbage.
Awesome views and hiking. Has one restroom(outhouse) that's clean. Great stargazing with mild light pollution from Santa Fe.
We spent a night at this small, 12-site, first-come-first-serve campground above Overlook Lake - a man made reservoir. Four of the sites have a view of the lake and are back-in for cars, campers, and camper vans. Three or four of the remaining sites are for drive-thru larger rigs; and there are dispersed camping opportunities around the rim if you can’t get into the campground. Overall, a nice secluded place worth the visit.
Nice camping about 12 sites. Please keep nice. Bathroom is clean but stinky. Nice view.
Pretty nice spot. I found this place last minute and if you stay here you will get some spectacular views of Santa Cruz Lake. There is a bathroom, shelter at your camp spot and a stove for cooking as well as a designated spot for a fire. There are only 25 spots and about 4 that actually view the lake so if your planning on coming here, I would come early. There is a fee to camp. I think like 9 bucks. Overall cheap and beautiful place to camp and see the stars. It’s very easy to find and my friend and I had service the whole time which made me feel safe and still connected to family at home in case of emergency.
