Ozark Trail Eleven Point Terminus Introduce

The Ozark Trail Eleven Point Terminus is located in Birch Tree, MO 65438. As part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, it serves as a crucial access point for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts looking to explore the Ozark Trail. However, it's important to note that access to the trailhead presents some challenges.

Based on recent customer reviews, the road leading directly to the trailhead is "horribly maintained" and "nearly impassible," even for SUVs with good clearance. The road is described as eroding, making it difficult to navigate. Therefore, visitors are strongly advised against driving directly to the trailhead.

Instead, the recommended approach is to:

  • Park near County Road 430/3173: Turn off the main road and park alongside County Road 430/3173.
  • Walk the final mile: From the parking area, walk the remaining mile down/up the hill to reach the trailhead.

A reviewer suggests that the trail would benefit from a formal extension up the hill and the establishment of a parking area at the top. This would significantly improve access for hikers and reduce the challenges posed by the current road conditions.

While the Ozark Trail Eleven Point Terminus offers access to a beautiful and scenic trail, potential visitors should be aware of the access limitations. Plan your trip accordingly, and consider the suggested parking and walking route to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. The trail itself provides access to the Ozark Trail, and therefore access to beautiful areas for hiking and outdoor activities. It is important to note the road conditions before attempting to drive directly to the trailhead.

DO NOT drive down this road to the tralhead. It's down a horribly maintained road. The basics is the road is eroding away and it was nearly impassible even in a SUV with good clearance. Instead, turn off and park next to the road but right next to County Road 430/3173 and walk the last mile down/up the hill. The trail needs to be formally extended up the hill and a parking area put in there, it would help a lot with access.
