We helped a family with a couple of RVs for accommodations here for a get together in August. I have been to Itasca many times, but was blown away by this place. It has a cabin, a couple of RV sites, huge tenting area and coolest of all (for me because I am a cooking nerd) A COMMERCIAL KITCHEN! Located on the northern side of Itasca State Park, Ozawindib Lake is beautiful in all seasons. The group site is on it's own private road and the only people allowed there are you and your group. It is even locked and gated. There are tons of mature trees and lots of space for groups. The kitchen building also has a bunch of tables (picture old group boy scout type camp-which is kind of what it used to be), then there are shelves with TONS of games to play. The kitchen is huge and even has a big griddle to whip up some pancakes and burgers for your crew. Oh, and it has a huge walk in cooler to store your food. SO cool. Behind the kitchen is a large firepit area and the restrooms/showers. Then you go down a trail to the tent area. On the left, there is also a private trail down to the lake. This place is very dog and family friendly. Dogs cannot go in the park buildings, but you can tent/RV camp with them. Rockwood store is the closest place to get groceries (it's a convenience store), otherwise you have to go to Bemidji or Park Rapids. The group camp is close to the wilderness trail and the headwaters.
Amazing place, one big refrigerator was not working
Very nice, bathrooms, showers, a huge dining hall and kitchen! Walk in cooler, new fridge in the kthen. Freezer in the kitchen. Plates, cups, silverware. Fire ring, picnic tables. Just great! No one there but your group.
Always fun
