The park has decent hiking trails and a nice view of the lake but most campsites and picnic tables are not fully groomed at times, the grass is too tall and too buggy to eat on. Please mow the picnic areas. Also, as a paid member I would love for the park to have upgrades such as a 2 mile paved concrete walking trail near the Mud Cove areas (so that people wouldn't fear getting hit by vehicles while walking) and paved parking in the camping areas - (parking on rocks ruins my tires). Thrasher Cove f highest cliff jumping 50-70 ft. Expert Level Jumping plenty of Hang time. Best Cliff Jumping in Central Texas! Trust. If your serious about jumping high cliffs... Works best if bring 100 ft + rope tie knot every 12 in hang over edge so can get back up climb like Batman. Or you have to swim to cove in photos 2 spots over and hike back.
Love it here! It’s beautiful, peaceful, and great for swimming, floating and grilling. We have 3 dogs and they love it there too. I’ve gone cliff-jumping there as well. One thing to know, however, is that the signage at the park isn’t great, so the maps at they provide at the entrance aren’t all that useful. I highly recommend plugging a specific location you want to go to in the park (e.g., Kidd Cove) into googlemaps and using that to navigate. Also, make sure to bring cash to get in, and it’s good to have a tent there too, since there’s not much shade.
Super cool place to see a bluebonnet hill! The flowers are so beautiful. Plenty of spaces to visit, camp, and swim. They have different parking spots. There are restrooms throughout but they do not have running water, which is the only down side.
Awesome park with beach like spots and great MTB trails. Park is very big and has 40 to 50 ft cliff faces at some points. Its the same distance for me to the coast but no gellyfish and clear water will make this my new beach destination. No more gulf coast for me
