This is a great campground! The fact that it’s free and pay by donation, this area is taken care of very well. And I love that there are so many sites with close access to the creek. Drove from Bentonville, AR as a halfway point for friends that live in St. Louis. Definitely coming back again to do the hiking loops. We just liked the camping area so much that we decided to spend the day relaxing and chatting fireside.

We had steps that someone had made for getting in and out of the water close to the campsite. Had a lot of fun. Our dogs loved it. All the campsites have a fire pit with a grate top. The campsites are very private with lots of trees. We had a big turtle come thru. We didn't have a problem finding wood to build fires. The roads all around have wood laying close to the road & back in the woods. We just threw in the back of the truck and in about 30 minutes we had a truck bed full of small & big pieces of wood. When your in the creek bed lots of cool looking rocks. I seen a lot of colorful fish swimming around

So peaceful and quiet. Nice picnic areas and great private camping areas as well. Very clean and has 2 bathrooms, no running water. One of my favorite places to get away to!

This was a neat, quiet campground. It also has an awesome hiking trail that meanders around the area. It can be difficult and long (10+ miles depending on your route) pire as short as you want it. I got there late so Bliss & I only clocked six miles. The campground sits close to a creek too so you get to fall asleep to the sound of a babbling brook. The campground was free with a donation, but feel at a campground with a bathroom & trash cans, one can almost always throw a donation. If I lived in the area I'd definitely be a regular. If I'm passing through again, I might just have to stop back by!
