Palisades-Kepler State Park is a fantastic winter hiking destination! The trails are well-maintained and clean, making it easy to explore the stunning bluffs and scenic Cedar River. The park's natural beauty really shines in the colder months, with peaceful surroundings and a chance to spot wildlife like deer and bald eagles. The mix of wooded trails and rocky overlooks provides a great variety of terrain. It’s a perfect spot for a quiet, refreshing hike in the winter!

Very nice hiking trails and scenery. A decent amount of variety of sights to see along the way. These trails should be fine for families with youngsters and I saw lots of dogs enjoying the trails as well. My only disappointment shall we say is it seems the park could have better signage and a map. Thankfully there was a DNR ranger who answered all my questions but if he wasn't there I'm sure I would have missed a few things.

This park has amazing hiking, trails are well marked and plenty of stopping points to enjoy the beautiful river views. They have cabins to stay here, although I've never stayed here, I come to hike frequently because I like the terrain changes and there is usually plenty of parking. Weekends are much busier than weekdays.

If you're just driving through the park for a short visit, drive past the campgrounds down to the water. Great place to drive thru to see the river up close or take in the leaves changing colors on the bluffs. Plenty of sandbars to walk around on depending on water level, and miles of narrow walking trails. A small little rock wall formation to sit on a bench in front of and take a selfie near the river. Very primitive outdoor restrooms if needed. Scattered picnic tables, grills and benches. Also a full separate campground area, ranger house, pavilion, lodge, cabins, etc. Lots of families taking fall pictures and several old classic cars with us for our visit!

The river trail is a good out and back hike through semi-rugged terrain with excellent views of the Cedar River. My daughter loves going here with her 2 young ones...and helpful Aunties!
