Here's what some of our guests have to say:
- "First time staying here under the new ownership and this campground is better than ever! Really appreciated the new horse stalls and refurbished cabin."
- "Maintenance was super proactive - muck was removed promptly and the place looks great overall."
- "Lovely campground! Electric and water convenient - Stalls were great too. Just a little road riding to get on the trails, doable but it takes a while to get into the park trail system so you have to add the return ride part into your overall hours. But Buckskin Canyon trail is right off camp propery - just not quite long enough for a whole days ride. Folks all very friendly and accommodating."

First time staying here under the new ownership and this campground is better than ever! Really appreciated the new horse stalls and refurbished cabin. Maintenance was super proactive - muck was removed promptly and the place looks great overall. Only things that would make it better are a hot tub and more direct trail access! Overall very happy will stay here again.
Lovely campground! Folks all very friendly and accommodating. The good thing for us horse people is that that side of the trails has very few hikers on it! Badger cave cool as was the artesian well. Lots of sites to see! B scott
Our family just stayed here at the Palmerosa and had a great experience. The Buckeye cabin and campground were both clean and well maintained. The camp sites were plenty big for the RV and trailer, and offered plenty of shade. Initially we did not have a camp site next to our horse stalls, but the owner was nice enough to let us relocate once another site became available. There were several horse trails close enough to keep us busy for two days and the views were beautiful!
We found that Palmer's Campground was the only campground not sold out the weekend we went for the dates we needed. When we arrived, we have no idea why it was not sold out. This place is great! Yes, it's a little farther away than some others, but what a great location and clean and beautiful campground. We enjoyed the space so much we "pinned" it on our map and made a note of the campsite and location for next time we are out. Quick and easy check-in and great communication with after hours check in. Thank you!
Very clean and well kept campground. The hosts were very friendly, responsive and accommodating. The bathrooms were clean, well stocked and air conditioned! The location was great and close to all the hiking and parks in Hocking Hills. Only minor gripe was there was no ice available for purchase at the campground and any service stations/stores were a good 15-20 minute drive. Other than that we loved it and would definitely recommend staying here!
Our family had a wonderful time here. We didn’t bring a horse so I can’t comment on that part, but the new horse stalls did look very nice. The campsite was clean, well maintained, and quiet. Great mix of grassy areas and tree cover. The site manager, Branson, was responsive, laid back, and accommodating. We were anywhere from 10-25 minutes from local attractions (although we saw many horse trails much closer for those bringing a horse). There are 3 clean bathrooms with private showers at the front office building, and the “outhouse” bathrooms closer to the campsites were also clean. The one recommendation would be better lighting in the outhouse toilets. There is a motion sensor light for night time, but during the day it is still very dark without a lantern. The site was extremely peaceful with no town or road sounds at all. Birdsong accompanied the sunrise each day. I’m sure this place will start to fill up once more people find out about it. It’s a great little campsite and definitely better maintained than most I’ve been to!
Loved the campground! Trails were up the road but wasn't a bad ride and close to Buck Canyon that is a cool quick ride. Very clean grounds , easy parking and the stalls were super nice.
Had a great stay on a gorgeous weekend in May! Our campsite was clean, well maintained and safe. The manager on duty was available, helpful and friendly.
