This is a great park to go for really nice leisurely hikes. Lots of plant diversity and the wildlife makes things really interesting, but you don't have to hike up extreme hills or anything to enjoy it. The trails are broken up into a bunch of relatively short trails, which you can link together at your own discretion if you want to make a longer hike out of it. Really good design. Wife and I had a great time and we'll be back! 👍

Great value state park. We stayed for 3 nights in an rv site. Beautiful trails, river views, free fishing rod hire, and kayaks and sups available for hire. Clean toilets, showers, and camp sites. Our kids loved the experience and were loaned activities to do while there by the park hosts. No laundry.

Always a nice getaway to that part of the state. Very walkable trails and our fido loves it! 🐕☀️😎 And a short 30 mins from Lockhart and your choice of BBQ if you desire? 😀

Can't believe it took us 7 years to finally come and visit. The kids loved playing down in the San Marcos river, the playground, and fishing. Beauty all around. The headquarters was great as well! They had very affordable treats and drinks, even ice cream. :) Truly a great place to visit on our trips to San Antonio. Caught fish at the ponds near the lake and a Guadalupe bass on the river. Bathrooms were well built and clean :)

I had a great time exploring this park. The trails were well maintained and easy to follow. I only visited for a few hours, but enjoyed catching just a glimpse of what it has to offer. The water pump was a highlight, and all the signs for native plants.
