Five stars for the unique experience of being in middle of basically nothing! Beautiful sky’s and really nice staff! We stayed in a queen cabin. The bed was comfy, the water was hot, the staff we super friendly and helpful and the view was spectacular! Everything we needed, unplugged and relaxing!
I stayed at the Panamint Springs Resort for two nights at an RV campsite, and it was a unique and enjoyable experience! I booked just the night before, and everything went smoothly. The resort’s location in the heart of the desert is incredible—offering breathtaking views and a peaceful, remote atmosphere. The general store was basic but had essentials, which was helpful given the remote location. The restaurant was a highlight during my stay, especially on Thanksgiving Day, when they offered a donation-only option—a thoughtful and welcoming touch that truly made the experience special. If you’re planning to visit, be mindful of the desert environment. It’s rugged and remote, which adds to the charm but requires preparation. Overall, it’s a great spot for adventure seekers and nature lovers.
We did dry camping with our RV. The spot was decent, enough room for us to back in and have room to park our jeep. I believe every spot has a fire pit. Price is fair. The location is perfect to explore the park. There is a restaurant/bar. There was wifi at the restaurant, too, which is hard to come by in Death Valley. There is a tiny store with a gas station. Gas is priced slightly high but is right there and very convenient. If you can make it, Stovepipe is more reasonable priced gas, we discovered. Bathrooms leave a lot to be desired, especially the showers. Water is hot but very hard to regulate. Hot! Cold! The stalls were rough, and there wasn't even a place to put my soap except on the gross ground. I highly recommend shower shoes if you're going to try this showering experience. I wish there was an RV dump for us dry campers. I guess there is one at Stovepipe, but for us, that was the wrong direction. We did have a really good time.
On first arrival I was in danger of falling in love with this place - an amazingly engaging and charming experience. I ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast which was lovely. I stayed in cabin 20 which is a step up from the tents right? Well in some respects yes however if you are unfortunate to have noisy inconsiderate neighbours you're screwed because the walls are so thin you can follow their conversations. This is even worse when they decide to get up at 4:50 and have a shower before going to catch the sunrise. When I eventually got to have my shower, the curtain was too short to fall into the tray and soaked the bathroom floor. Maybe one day I'll stay here again and be a bit more lucky with the accommodation.
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! The area is remote, with no wifi (other than in the restaurant), no cell coverage, nothing. But you do not need it here anyway. The Motel is located at the western boarder of Death Valley. Check in quick and you do it at the gas station, which is also a small general store. They also have a restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. The food was really good and had a great service. We stayed in a queen cabin. These are newer, and are located at the other side of the road along the tents. The cabin was warm, had all we need and a very high pressure, great shower. I have never seen such a beautiful, clear sky with so many stars, it is a great experience to spend a night here. There is also a firepit in front of the cabin if you want to have a fire. I can only recommend here, it is a great experience and I really enjoyed switching off from the everyday reality for a while. Loved it!
