Paradise Campground Introduce
Paradise Campground offers a serene and budget-friendly camping experience for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a connection with nature. Located at 301 Paradise Rd, Santa Barbara, CA 93105, this charming campground provides a mix of basic amenities and proximity to natural attractions, making it an ideal choice for experienced campers.
Nestled along the riverbanks, Paradise Campground allows visitors to enjoy swimming and soaking in the nearby water during their stay. The site features toilets (without sinks) kept in immaculate condition, water spigots throughout, and shaded sites with tables, BBQ areas, and fire pits available at each location. Firewood is also available for purchase on-site.
- Peaceful Environment: Campers can enjoy a quiet retreat despite the proximity to Santa Barbara's vibrant attractions.
- Proximity to Nature: Easy access to swimming in the river and other outdoor activities awaits just across the road.
- Budget-Friendly: Offers basic yet functional amenities, ideal for those who prefer a minimalist camping experience.
- Friendly Staff: Known for its helpful and approachable staff, enhancing your camping adventure.
While Paradise Campground provides essential facilities, some areas have room for improvement. For instance, the lack of clear site signage and protruding logs in pathways may pose challenges for campers. Additionally, water spigots can be tricky to use, and noise from nearby roads is present during peak hours.
The campground's pricing reflects its offerings, though some visitors feel it may not fully justify the cost, especially considering extra fees for multiple vehicles.

I had a wonderful experience, it’s super quiet, and very basic. There are toilets( no sinks) which are immaculately clean, and water spigots throughout. I went for a swim in the river (Nov 2024) across the road, was about a 10 min walk to where it’s deep enough to soak/wash. There are tables/BBQs and fire pits at every site, plus loads of shade at outer sites as well. I LOVE this place, super helpful, friendly people that live there and I highly recommend it if you are an experienced camper, which means you have everything you need re showers etc. Oh and they also sell firewood there too. 💥❤️‼️🙏
There's a whole sign board covered in rules and policies. But not a site map. The sites are numbered but the signs with numbers are small and easy to miss. Backing into my space, I hit a log sticking ~7" out of the ground because it was directly behind my tire and blocked from my mirrors. Why are there random logs sticking out of the ground? No idea. But they're sure here and you will hit them if you don't have someone guiding you since they're directly in the path of your vehicle when you back into the space. I thought they might be there to protect the tables from vehicles hitting them, but the one I hit was just in the middle of my spot and nowhere near the table or anything else. The spigot nearest our site only works if you absolutely smash the top of the handle down, and then it sprays out at a wide angle hosing down your shoes and pants and everything except where you want the water to go. It's clearly been like this awhile because there's a paper sign that says "push handle straight down for water" that looks several years old. Campgrounds are situated right off the road so there's constant noise from cars even in the evening. Bathrooms were very clean when we arrived, but there are only 4 stalls, and the cleanliness didn't last all weekend with a half full campground. Fire pits are burned through on the bottom with large rusted through holes. Squirrels are inevitable anywhere in nature, and these ones are everywhere, but that's just something to be aware of since acorns will be everywhere. Unsure if smoking is allowed or not, but the group next to us decided to chain smoke cigars and cigarettes all weekend. Not really worth the price, especially having to pay an extra $10 a night for a second car despite the two cars taking up less room than a single RV.
Loved the camping grounds and the self check and payment thing. The place is beautiful and peaceful you can fall asleep to the sound of the water from the river nearby.
When we got there we intended to spend 2 nights at the campground so we paid for 2. We ended up leaving for medical reasons. The employee at the campground was not nice at all when I asked for a refund. I emailed customer service twice and tried to contact them through their main page and they ignored me. It has been an entire month. This company (Parks Management Company) is greedy and you should take your business elsewhere.
I hate small portable bathrooms. There is very little to keep anyone amused in the campground. They have a business or park maintenance trucks with a little fleet of vehicles at the campground.
