Of all the places to drop one's Goldwing, this is the best. I was making a U turn on my Goldwing motorcycle on a dirt road just outside the entrance to what is now called Copper Cloud Ranch. I hit a rut that caused the bike to tip over. Unable to lift the beast i summoned help from the ranch owner, an attractive woman, Amy, who belongs in a Hollywood Western. Amy and a couple who live on the land with horses helped me lift the bike. It was about 4 pm and i was wandering in search of a campsite and Amie just happened to have a vacant cabin. It was perfect--- rustic on the outside, neat and clean on the inside. The view from the porch is very nice, tan and rust colored cliffs on the east side, brown hills to the south. I sat on the porch enjoying the serenity of a horse farm. I made myself coffee and relaxed after the anguish of my mishap. The cabin has running water and a kitchen equipped with basic utilensils. Bathroom is in a nearby building. Just goes to show that every cloud has a silver lining.

I asked by email if I could pitch my tent, no problem: (around twenty dollars). Very warm welcome and plenty of space. The restrooms are perfect! Lots of hiking to do in the surrounding area, an alternative to Page if you want to visit a slot canyon that is not crowded and overpriced (antelope), come and sleep here, and do Buckskin Gulch the next morning (be careful, find out about the weather .The track to this trail is OK only in dry weather)
