We had a great stay at Park Terrace Campground. The campsites are full hook up and clean with a gravel camper pad and an extra large concrete “picnic table” pad. Bathroom/shower house is very clean. The showers are locking stalls not individual rooms. The staff at the office is friendly and helpful. The playground is newly installed. Within the same park but down the road or also accessible by trails is a nice beach with an inflatable waterpark and boathouse. One thing to note about the beach is if your children are going to wear life jackets on a boat and/or at the beach it must be stamped as approved by the US Coast Guard and they check for that specifically.
Been a very nice experience thus far, I've been here 4 days and the weather for this time of year is beautiful. The campground does have full hookups (yes sewer too) so it makes it very convenient as you don't have to wait in line to dump your tanks.
Camped in November, so all spots were first come first served. Quiet Friday day into night. Full hookups year-round. No age limit on your RV (I have a vintage trailer, which can be a problem in booking sites). Reasonable nightly rate ($23/night with full hookups), was only charged one night, even though I arrived at 10am. Friendly staff, and felt safe with regular ranger patrols. Hot showers, but shower/bath house could use some love. Pit toilets DID have a functioning sink in the back for hand washing. Only complaint was smallish site sizes and finding bags of trash in my site's fire pit. If I'm back in this area, I will stay here again and use the ample walking trails.
This campground is excellent! Clean, well kept and well managed. They have an engaged camp host and DNR makes hourly rounds. Sites are typical size. Park was full but quiet. Plenty to do from swimming in the lake with a beautiful beach, to fishing, to kayaking, to disc golf to just hiking. Not to mention its close to shopping, antiquing, a Camping World store(right up the road!) and the Quad Cities Airshow, which is why we were there. The bathrooms are plentiful and clean. The shower house is older, but clean with hot water and good water pressure. Camp store is small but has the essentials. It is located in the office which is open for 8:00 AM-10:00 PM. Full hookups (unusual at a public campground) worked well. 30 & 50 amp. The water spigot is shared and requires a longer hose. The sites are level with gravel and concrete patios. Nice fire rings and picnic tables. They set us up for a military discount that we qualify for as you cant do this online. Now, when we book next time the discount will automatically apply. We will definitely be back.
Excellent stop for a couple of nights, professional and very friendly staff. Facilities were clean and accessible. The grounds were well maintained and manicured. Great location to launch a bike ride to Davenport and back.
