There is not one feature I could point to exactly, but this campground has a great vintage vibe. The owners are so nice, and you almost want to stay here just to hang out with them. The pool is huge, clean, and refreshing. The lots are smaller, but they have grass and trees which is a nice change from the gravel and concrete at state parks. We only stayed for one night, but we look forward to seeing how the campground grows and progresses. It sounds like the owners have some fun plans for their next phase of updating.
We ended up staying here last minute after all the large camper sites at the State Campground were filled. They were great about accommodating us last minute and late. The sites are very spacious and well maintained. There was a picnic table available at each site. The pool was nice and clean, the kids enjoyed it a lot! The bathrooms and showers were clean. We definitely put this campground on our "return to list!"
This was our 2nd trip to this campground, the 1st being last year (different owners), then this past 4th of July week (new owners). The amount of time and effort that the new owners have put in is showing! They are very engaging with the people who are camping, from activities to just sitting and talking around the community fire pit. The pool looks way better than the last time we were there. Good job!!! We'll be back!!!
Nat & Ave are awesome!! We went camping there for my birthday and had a great time!! I definitely recommend camping there. Watching the renovations they have been doing is amazing, they are working hard at this campground. They are definitely dedicated owners to their campers, you can find them working hard on the grounds, walking the grounds and asking if you need anything and how things are going. Follow them on TikTok and see it from the beginning. We will definitely be back!!! Thank you Nat & Ave for everything!!!!
The new owners are amazing! If you can’t find them and need anything, just take a walk around. You’ll find them working on some project to update this cherished campground. The bathrooms are clean and decorated with pictures of the cutest models (spoiler alert it’s their pups 🐶) It’s a great location to explore the area and not too far from Alpena. We love staying here and hope to visit in the future to see what they do with the place
