Very happy with our stay, campground was well maintained and sites are far enough to be private but close enough to make friends. Park is a Great place for kids to make friends, lots of bathrooms throughout the campground. Hard to hammer in tent pegs in some areas, lots of great options on almost all sites for hammocks. The beach trail was much harder than we expected, can do switchbacks for a very long trek or do a very sketchy straight trail to the bottom. Bad coming down, worse coming up. We heard the other trail was very nice though. Access to beach is a short drive (under 5 min). Lake was quite nice, water a very manageable temperature and decent swimming. Close to Kamloops. Liquor and cannabis store right at the turnoff from the highway, only 15-20 min from campground. Look forward to coming again with more consistent weather.
Excellent campground. Easily accessible from Kamloops, yet feels remote. Campsites have plenty of privacy from nearby neighbors, and the campsite is pretty quiet overall. Paul lake and the Paul Lake beach nearby is a great place to spend the day and evening, kayaking, paddle boarding or enjoying some sun on the shore. A dog friendly area is available at the beach. Would recommend!
Beautiful and quiet campground close to Kamloops. I was happy that I chose this campground in the forests where it was not as hot as in Kamloops (42 °C on that day). RV sites felt private with trees separating the individual sites. You don't have the feeling of being cramped next to each other. The lake close to the campground was idyllic, very few people but spacious area with picnic tables and public washrooms.
Great campground with fairly private sites, beach was a disappointment. My family stayed in site 55. Lots of trees and foliage around the site. Driving past the sites further back, I noticed they had less foliage between the sites, but more places to hang up hammocks. There are lots of garbage bins and water spigots around. The playground was great for the kids and it had a grassy area to play in too. The washrooms in the campground are pit toilets, but there are flush toilets at the beach. If you're booking this campground for the beach, don't. I left a review for the day use beach, but a quick summery: Goose poop everywhere, tons of milfoil/lakeweed, and lots of leaches. Also, drive don't walk. We didn't know how big of an elevation change there is between the campground and the lake.
This park is located a moderate drive off the hwy north of Kamloops BC. The exit is well marked but Google maps does not always work well for finding this park when you are east of Kamloops. Drive north out of Kamloops before you follow Google Map directions for this park. The road is paved and a little twisty-turny but in good condition. The campground is located uphill from the lake. There is a large parking lot at the lake with room for RV’s. The road from the campground to the lake is a very long walk. Look for the beach trail from the campground. It is very steep but manageable. We prefer to drive to this beach as do most campers. There are toilet/shower buildings in this park and no site hookups. The playground is located in the center of the campground which is located on a very steep hillside. You will get a good workout walking in this park. The location high in the hills above Kamloops provide some relief from the heat and lots of shade.
