Good for kids
My friend and I finished a backpacking trip in September 2021 to Pawnee's lake from Brainard Rec Area. The trail is longer than expect, and it can be dangerous descending from the Pawnee Pass. Over all, a very good experience. We counted it was 11 miles each way.
4/20/2018 I’ve been here and it’s a hike from Brainer Lake. Once you go pass Lake Isabelle it’s all up to Pawnee Pass. You’ll go by a marker that marks the pass then you head down towards the lake. Also I had cell phone coverage near the lake because Granby is across the valley.
The last time I was there was in the late seventies. I remember it was great cutthroat fishing.
Quiet and absolutely breath taking. Going back to trek up to the peak.
