If you wanna enjoy the ocean & the sun it’s a must go. If you are into snorkeling this is the place to be. If you are lucky you’ll snorkel with the Manta Rays in the lagoon. It’s a beautiful beach with positive vibes.
My favorite snorkeling spot in Florida. Beautiful clear water, manatees, tropical fish, lots of shade & BBQ grills. Clean bathrooms, amazing swimming, great for families. Easily accessible by kayak or SUP. Shuttle boat available too.
This has been on our bucket list & did not disappoint! You need to be mindful of the tide as the snorkeling lagoon turns into a puddle but the north end offers great sandbar to explore during low tide. Water visibility is also best during high tide. When we arrived at noon the water was crystal clear but by 4 it began to get murky with tide change. If you want to experience snorkeling without needing a passport, this is great option. Perfect lagoon for beginners or children.
This place is magical. Been there twice, arrive early and expend the whole day exploring it, don’t forget to bring your water and/or nonalcoholic drinks. Good to rest and disconnect of everything, the turquoise water let you feel you’re in paradise.
Peanut island is absolutely beautiful! The sand is soft and there is no seaweed. I recommend coming early because it does get full to capacity at times and the ferry stops bringing people. You have to bring your own food and drinks as there is no concession. No alcohol is permitted. You can even camp here overnight. It's a great place to come and snorkel. You can even bring your dog as they are allowed as well. The bathrooms are kept clean as well so that's always a plus. I'd just recommend coming on a weekday because how full it gets.
