Went on a camping trip to Yellowstone National Park. We saw online that pebble creek was one of the last campgrounds in the park to fill up each day. So we made our plans to get to that campground. It was amazing! There was wildlife all over, birds, bison, etc. There a small river flowing right next to the sites. There's no electricity and the toilet facilities are waterless. It's truly a top notch camp site for those that really want to live with nature right outside their g Tent/camper

We've decided that Pebble Creek is our favorite campground ever. We car camped for 2 nights in Aug 2021. Currently, sites 1-16 are reservation only, and sites 17-27 are FCFS. If you can't get a reservation, watch the park website where they list the times each campground filled up the day before and try your hardest to get there early and get a spot. You will not be disappointed! We lucked out and arrived on a rainy 50* day, so there were a few sites available. We got site 11 our first night. It's tucked into the center of the campground under a canopy of trees, complete with a tent pad, picnic table and bear box. The next morning we were able to secure the site we were really after, site 26, which has the best views in our opinion! Pebble Creek runs down from the mountains directly across the campground road, and you have an unobstructed view of the mountains. This campground is the perfect home-base for exploring Lamar Valley, or for visiting the towns of Silver Gate and Cooke City at the NE entrance. We spent one day driving through Lamar Valley to the North entrance and ate lunch in Gardiner, then explored the Mammoth Hot Springs area. The camp hosts were awesome. Very friendly and helpful! The bathrooms (pit toilets and no running water) were very clean as far as pit toilets go. There is a hand-pump water spigot on the edge of site 26 for all to use, as well as one in the center of the campground. There is no cell service. The closest is Silver Gate or Cooke City to the east, and there is also a pocket of cell service at the entrance road to Slough Creek Campground to the west. Pebble Creek Campground is situated right in the middle of these 2 locations. If you find yourself in need of cell service, just drive a half hour in either direction and you'll be good! We loved our short time at Pebble Creek, and can't wait to go back!

Pebble Creek Trail has easy access from Route 212 just NE of the Pebble Creek Campground in Yellowstone National Park. My family hiked a good part of the trail. The trail isn’t technical; my kids ages 4 and 7 didn’t have any trouble hiking it. We didn’t see any large wildlife, but we did see lots of scat on the trail to indicate multiple species close by. The trail meets the creek from time to time. The water is ice cold but nice for a foot soak. The trail is approximately 109 miles from Powell, WY and I would hike it again.

As a long time Yellowstone visitor I have stayed in most of the campgrounds in Yellowstone and Pebble Creek is our favorite. It is tucked back in the corner of a large valley that offers great wildlife viewing. When we stayed there last we could see a bear eating in the meadow from our campsite. There are lots of shade trees and Pebble Creek nerby that the kids can usually play in. There are no generators allowed so it stays nice and quiet. Peace and quiet in busy Yellowstone.

My family loved this campground. It wasn't our first choice but we're glad we ended up here. The creek is great for kids to play in. Camp hosts are Yellowstone fixtures with 20+ years at this very site. It is a longer drive to many of the attractions than other campgrounds but you go through the bison herds and that's always special.
