BRING CASH!! The owner doesnt do card. He was nice enough to let us go grab some and come back. We stayed on the rocky beach area for some fishing and camping and had a WONDERFUL time. The bathrooms have showers and were very clean. The grounds are kept really clean, fresh cut, and the owner was very flexible and accommodating. We caught some large mouth bass, blue gill, and a huge channel catfish. We will definitely be coming back! He's dog friendly, you can build a fire and the beach had a lot of nice drift wood but the owner sold some firewood as well. Overall a wonderful experience and some great memories.
Perfect place to get away from it all. About 20 min from the nearest $ general that has anything you forgot....(not that i would know personally 😆). Quiet location with several nice camping spots. The cabins are basic but are perfect for that family vacation! Bathrooms were clean and well kept. Our float was perfect on the Big Piney. We did kayaks and no one flipped. Several fun rapids and plenty of gravel bars to stop and swim at! Our group ranged from age 7 to 50! Water was clear and we could see lots of fish! The owners are super nice and full of information. I wouldn't float the Big Piney with anyone else!
Extremely friendly staff, family friendly, and a very east going float! Clean beautiful river. I love going on float trips, and I've been on a lot, but I've never had an experience as wonderful as Peck's Last Resort! Im definitely going back!
This is a smaller campground, but was absolutely wonderful. I arrived Thursday evening around 7pm. Greg, the owner, was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I didn't realize he did not accept credit/debit cards, but was more than willing to let me pay at the end of my stay. He assisted me with my pop-up canopy, delivered a wheelbarrow full of firewood and even helped me light the fire Friday morning (after my failed attempts the night before lol). There is no general wifi available, so had very little cell service. However, I was still able to text and receive calls. It was absolutely incredible to be able to unplug. My friends and I stayed in the rv spots with a fabulous view of the river. The restroom/shower house was very roomy and the hot water was awesome. Duke, the campground dog was super friendly and sweet! Greg has another 5 acres of space with electric only/no restroom facilities father away from the main camping area I might try out next time. If you are looking for a quiet, laid back space with extraordinary river access, Peck's is definitely the place to be. My friends and I are already planning another trip here next year to include a float. Thank you for your hospitality Greg and Duke!! We'll see you next year!
I stayed for two nights and had a great time, the river access was awesome and easy, perfect for swimming of all age groups or skill levels, long shore line with abundance of access points, slow moving, shallow with gentle slope to the deeper parts, magnificent views. The campground facilities are clean and well maintained.
Was planning to go dispersed camping near watts hollow but learned this whole area is privately owned and there was also a group turkey hunting. Talked to the hunters and owner and they politely agreed to let us camp by the river for a small fee. Had a great time and felt like we had the place to ourselves, hope to return soon.
The owners are the nicest and most helpful people running a camping and canoe/rafting/kayaking resort I have found in missouri they really make you feel welcome. The cabins are nice and comfortable if you are not in a camper or tent. Will definitely be back to stay longer next visit.
