Pelican Lake Campground Introduce

Pelican Lake Campground, located in Randlett, UT 84063, and reachable by phone at (435) 781-4400 or mobile at +1 435-781-4400, offers a camping experience with notable natural beauty, though it's important to be aware of the surrounding industrial activity. Customer reviews highlight the campground's stunning flora and lake views, but also mention the proximity to oil pump operations and the challenges of accessing the site.

The campground is situated near Pelican Lake, offering picturesque views and a natural setting. However, the presence of oil pumps significantly impacts the ambiance, with noise from machinery and tanker trucks being a common concern. The area is also accessed via several miles of unpaved roads, requiring vehicles suitable for rough terrain.

Key Features:

  • Natural Beauty: The campground boasts exceptional flora and scenic lake views.
  • Basic Amenities: Covered tables and fire rings are provided.
  • Clean Vault Toilets: The vault toilets are noted for their cleanliness.

Important Considerations:

  • Industrial Noise: The campground is located near oil pump operations, resulting in significant noise from machinery and tanker trucks.
  • Unpaved Roads: Access to the campground involves several miles of unpaved roads, requiring suitable vehicles.
  • Navigation Challenges: Google Maps directions have been reported as unreliable; following signs for Pelican Lake is recommended.
  • Uneven Parking: Parking spaces are reported to be uneven.
  • Reservation Issues: Some users have reported issues with the reservation system, such as being unable to book single nights.

While Pelican Lake Campground offers beautiful natural scenery, potential campers should be aware of the surrounding industrial activity and the challenges of accessing the site. It is advisable to have a vehicle capable of handling unpaved roads and to follow local signage rather than relying solely on GPS directions.

If the flora wasn't exceptional, it is, this would be a one star review. I'm not sure if the oil came first or the campground. I can't believe how noisy and near the pump jacks are. A diesel tanker truck drove by at 1am. The reservation system wouldn't let me book one night so I paid for last night and tonight. I wasn't even here yesterday. Pretty flowers in the sagebrush. Vault toilets are clean. Parking spaces are not level. Covered tables and fire ring was appreciated.

Absolutely garbage google maps directions, now I see someone called that out but I missed that and drove around in the dark on someone’s ranch — scary and unsafe because it’s their ranch and not real roads!!!! Campsite was okay, lake is pretty but the oil pumps or whatever that is really ruin the nature vibe. I recommend having a good car bc it’s several miles on unpaved roads. Follow the signs that say pelican lake, not google.

Unexpectedly great little campsite with raised platforms for the tents, fire pits, and bathrooms that actually smelled nice. NOTE: APPROACH FROM PELICAN LAKE ROAD ON THE WEST, NOT THE EAST SIDE. Google Maps seems to think right now there's a road to the east but it's actually all a ranch.

Aside from the lack of trash receptacles, and the bugs, this place is amazing! Just a short drive from Vernal, UT to clean / quiet camping, and nice fishing!

13 sites, 2 individual sites on water and 1 group site on the water. 9 site in a loop siting each site has a picnic table fire ring and shelter. Level sites. Vault toilets very clean and stocked. Here in mid may for 10 days 2 other campers 1 night completely empty. Day use area and boat ramp. Lake is hugh and fun to paddle. Wild horses antelope and birds. Great place will be back
