Customer Reviews
This place is small but nice. Little pool little store. Nice staff but very far walk to beach. Good times though. We rode the ferry 27 dollars up 15 dollars back to go to golf shores. Nice lil museum. Quiet n pleasant
This was our first time in Dauphin Island. We chose this park because they posted drive through lots. Park was small but good parking. Far walk to the beach. We was only there for one day of the 4 we had reserved because we was advised to leave because of the Hurricane coming through. We was assured we would only be charged for one day. So we left. This was in September. We have been given the run around in getting our refund back. We was promised there would be a refund in the mail which has yet to happen over a month later. Pretty sad business practice when you can't trust them to keep their word. I would not recommend this place for this reason. I will also be notifying the better business bureau of this practice.
Only visited the shop but the RV lot looked fine. Very compact and seemed like people were making friends at the little pool they have. As for the shop, it's small and doesn't have quite everything, but what they do have is very well priced. You can find items here for half as much as other shops on the island. For example, they had a crabber hat for like $16 where other shops had them for at least $25 and the quality seemed the same. Ice cream shop is okay. Got a shake and it wasn't anything special. Took a while to make too. A solid option if you want ice cream because you don't have many on the island.
You won’t find a better place to stay, right next door is a very good restaurant, I see some other people complaining about size of camp sights, I had 8 kids with me and two adults and we managed just fine. Two older boys had a tent set up and I had my 20 foot projector screen set up in front of the camper. The owners and staff were phenomenal. Ice cream, shaved ice and souvenirs were all very affordable. Swimming pool was very nice and clean. The walk to the beach is a shot from the camp ground with young kids, and would Imagine for any older people, but jump In your car and go to west end it’s a 4 minute drive and you park 50 foot from the water. If you like to fish there’s a bay right across the street and it’s full of fish. Out of all the private owned camp grounds I have stay at this has been by far the best one. Absolutely great place.
My kids and I visited the store several times during our stay. Mayfield dairy ice cream (try Pirate Treasure), snow cones, and anything your forgot. Great little place.
Location is great but they don’t keep the grounds up. Sand spurs are everywhere and thorns on bushes. We had to leave and we’re coming back. They said they would refund and instead charged us twice. The lady in the office has been trying to help but the man/grandson is rude. We truly want to stay there but so much needs to be improved and things that aren’t difficult to improve yet aren’t being addressed. No way we would stay here again after finding Homestead RV Community, a short drive but so worth it. Very professional and competent. Make the short drive and you won’t regret it.
The best folks around. All locals! Sites are well maintained, ice cream shop is delightful, pool is perfect. The lots not big but it's perfect!
