The campsite is very family-friendly. The staff was friendly. We were there on a night when you could see the northern lights and it was a beautiful sight. There are showers, toilets and washing machines. Some of the campsites are not quite level

I've been going to and enjoying Pennyrile Forest State Park since I was just a young girl! Now, I live almost within rock throwing distance from there... It's a beautiful place to take the family, or just a couple looking for a secluded spot, or just go by yourself and enjoy all it has to offer! The lake is awesome for fishing, swimming, or just kick back and enjoy the God given views! Spectacular! They have trails for horse riding, and the overnight accommodations are nothing short of outstanding! You owe it to yourself to check out Pennyrile Forest State Park! 💖

RV parking spots are far from level!!! A lot of families were struggling to get their campers level. Several said their auto level wouldn’t work. The black top must be brand new because blocks under the levels were digging into the black top so your camper wouldn’t stay level. The last 15 minutes of the drive to the park are on very narrow roads with a lot of blind turns with a lot of turns and hills. I wouldn’t drive a camper back there but I might stay at the lodges so we can go back to the beach which was pretty cool.

Neat park, has almost everything.....pool, lodge, restaurant, hiking, camping....employees all over.......very nice place...stop and enjoy everything, stay at the lodge or grab a campsite or pack a lunch and take a nature hike....

Pennyrile Forest is a beautiful park. The campground has many dull service spots that are described to have a "slight" slope. On many of the spots, the slope is in excess of 2' over the length of a 20' camper. Therefore, leveling can be a difficult challenge.
