Good place to camp. Plenty of outside stuff to do and reasonable rates. It may be a little primitive for some, but it's a typical state park type of campground. Decent shower house but, not fancy at all. Dump station and community water spigots so it is a little bit like boondocking. There are electric hookups on the lots and most of the lots are pretty level.

The park was hit pretty good after the last storm, but they got it cleaned up well for our 1st camping trip of the season. All the park staff were very nice that we encountered. If they had sewer hook-ups at the stations, it would have been perfect! I think we will be back for sure tho.

Scott the campground host does a great job, the campground is very nice with lots of mature trees. I wish that they had water run to each site. You will need to bring extra hose if you intend to fill your tanks while here.

We love Pere Marquette Campground! Nice sites and most are fairly level. We enjoy the surrounding area with the beautiful views. We did not use the bathhouse but our friends did and said the showers were not great.

We tent camped on the electric side. The sites are all gravel (vs. paved) and many don’t have a flat grass space big enough for a tent. We lucked out with our site. It’s an easy walk to the lodge, visitor center, and trails. Shower house is heated. Loved that it very birdy, especially in the morning and evening. Owls, eagles, woodpeckers. No camp store and didn’t see anything in the nearest town. Wood from the camp host burned good though.
