First time here, hosts (Derrick and Sara) were exceptionally helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. Hope you are there next year! Bathrooms were very clean, best we have seen in a National Park even though it was a vault system. Site was awesome, lots of privacy and wonderful lake, kayaked for hours. Ralph and Shannon
One of the most beautiful campsites I’ve ever enjoyed. Exceptionally clean vault bathrooms. Only downside is no shower but the sites were quiet, private, and beautiful. Highly recommend.
My boyfriend and I stayed at site 7A over the Labor Day weekend. It was amazing and beautiful! Our site was a walk-in so it was a little more private and extremely spacious. There were no bugs either which we aren't sure if we got lucky or if it's always like that. I totally recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Only slight downside was our site was part of a trailhead which the signage can be a bit confusing so we did have people accidentally come onto our site a couple times thinking it was the trail. Maybe a little better signage would help? Otherwise absolutely love it, 10/10!
Well taken care of. Cleanest vaulted bathrooms we've ever seen at a rustic campground. Lake is beautiful, great beach. Shore fishing is limited to the dock, otherwise you need a boat/yak/canoe. The general store isn't far, you can rent them there. 20 minutes from pictured rock.
Pete’s Lake Campground is a great place for rustic camping. The sites are roomy and surrounded by trees. The camp hosts, Sara and Derrick, are amazing hosts. They are available to help with any problem you may have (I had a battery issue) and are well versed in local knowledge! The bathrooms we super clean and didn’t smell. This was my first experience at Pete’s Lake but it certainly won’t be my last! Thanks Sara and Derrick for making my stay such a great experience!!
Beautiful campground. We agree with all the glowing compliments paid here, and we will return in 2025. We can only hope this year, campers respect the quiet hours rules by NOT running generators after 10 pm, since the hosts felt powerless to enforce the rule.
Very loud for such a beautiful campground. We had a beautiful site on the lake. Started with loud music at 7 am on Saturday from another camper, drove their noisy truck around the loop at least 3 times to make sure no one was still sleeping. Then just as we settled in to enjoy the sunny day, the campground host starts up the leaf blower. Not only did they run the leaf blower for the next 5 hours. Time to check out the beautiful hiking trails. Returned 2 hours later to the wonderful sounds of leaf blowing and the host apologized, said he needed to keep the campground clean. My advice? The pit toilets are stinky and dirty. Put your efforts there. Been camping remote Natl Forest campgrounds for over 30 years. This one from the beauty standpoint didn't disappoint. Too bad the campground was so poorly maintained. Instead of leaf blowing all day in the forest, clean the bathrooms and get decent air freshener. Many even put nice flowers by the bathrooms to make it nice.
