I didn’t go to the lake exactly — I just walked up the road to Diamond Patrol (a former fire lookout site). I saw a person with what lookout like a kayak on the lakeshore, and 2 other parties, but the area was remote and quiet, otherwise.

Rough road getting there, especially the last three or four miles. Grizzly and wolf habitat, very remote. I was there by myself in the middle of the day and it was quite eerie. I'm not sure you'd be able to get any kind of trailer back there, other than maybe a pop-up if you're quite skilled and the one larger spot isn't taken yet. Also when I was there they were logging close enough by that I could hear the distant machinery humming and echoing off the mountains, adding to the creepiness. A nice destination if you are aware, prepared, and with a group who knows what they're doing.

Sites are trashed with broken glass and left behind items. Very primitive, which is not a bad thing but seems to be more of a rowdy place than a relaxing place. There wasn't an obvious place to put our canoe in and the bank was too muddy to attempt from the campsite.

Beautiful lake with a few rustic campsites. Road is a bit rough for a camper or trailer. Fine for a four wheeler or side by side.
