We needed a decent overnight stop and this place fit the bill. Nice little campground, nothing very big is going to fit - definitely meant for tents, car campers, small towables, or truck campers. $12 per site, typical federal money registration envelope, iron ranger. Pit toilets were decent and clean. Trash cans were aplenty and the area was well kept. No water or electricity. I slept like a baby, window open, didn’t hear any road noise.
Stopped by to enjoy the river views. Very clean, quaint location off of 299. 👌
Great spot to access the river. Three clean toilet areas. Changing area. Receptacles for recycling and garbage. River access for trailers. A group camp area with gazebo. The downside is there aren’t many campsites and it is right off the highway. That said, the few camps are almost all river view, have fire rings, benches and some have bear boxes.
If you use google maps, it will lead you down East Fork road with 2 abandoned buildings. Pigeon Point is southwest from here on 299, next to the river. We reserved the group site that has shade, bbq, and many tables. Unfortunately no running water.
Right on the river, good swimming hole with some good jumping spots. There is no water and only some of the spots have shade. We’ll be back!
