I visited on a rainy afternoon, and the place was quiet and peaceful. I should say it was quiet except for the abundant birdsong! The surrounding woods were lovely, but I did not see any established trails. However, it is a river access point, so the main features were the nice boat ramp and the generous parking lot. It looked like there were a few places where you could cook food or have a small fire, but the water was very high when I visited, and those areas were inundated. There are restrooms (no running water), but there are no garbage cans. (Sadly, the lack of garbage cans has led to some trash being left behind. 😕 Please do better, folks!) If you want a place to fish or to get out onto the Osage River, Pikes Camp Access is a great spot. But shoot for an evening when the water is a little lower if you want to spend some time relaxing on the riverbank!
Great place, easy access for Bank Fishing on the Osage River.
Great place to lauch your boat on the Osage River. 2 nice boat ramps with bathrooms. Nice looking camping area but I've never stayed the night. Always meet nice folks.
Love it. 3 hiking trails 3, 4, 5 miles, beautiful creeks, cliffs, caves
Came threw on a bike touring trip and honestly probably one of my favorite areas I stopped at, didn't actually have much and yeah there's trash because they simply don't have a dumpster so people just leave the bags they accumulate (odd actually seeing it's right outside of a town so it would be easy to deal with a dumpster) however. Waking up walking out to the water was just a1 AND. THE FISH. OML. I have never seen people pull cats out that consistently of that size. Definitely going to be coming back here just to fish someday.
