This place has really gone downhill in quality and maintenance. When we visited it had the air of poverty and insecurity. There are much better places to camp than here. Until this place has better maintenance and security, choose a different campground or use any of the many dispersed camping areas around the east side of Pilot Butte Reservoir. We visited September 2023.

We stayed there in May. Not much shade, but a very nice place to camp. No fees, but each spot has a covered picnic shelter with table and fire pit. Some spots even had cement pads for your trailer. We stayed out on the point and had the place to ourselves after dark. Just us, loons, deer and ducks. Beautiful views in ever direction in the morning. We're very glad we stumbled on this place!

In June, we stayed there. A good area to camp, but not much shade. Each location features a shaded picnic pavilion with a table and a fire pit, but there are no costs. Some locations even have concrete trailer sites. After dusk, we remained on the point and had the area to ourselves. Only us, the loons, the deer, and the ducks. In the morning, there are stunning sights in every aspect. We're very happy we found this location!
