Perfect place for group tent camping complete with hot shower facilities and a lovely chilled vibe at the campground. Right by a river with a deck for water activities in the hot weather, and close enough to Burlington for city adventures too. The owner, Dunlap, was really helpful throughout the weekend! Thanks again!
Do not pay $45 for this "tent campground." It is basically an RV site with a little patch of grass for tents down by the river (which sounds nice, but the river was drowned out by the highway bridge right next to us, and it was super buggy). There was nowhere to fill up our water bottles. We had to choose between a garden hose that we couldn't turn on and the shower heads. There was no sink. And there was no outhouse--just a portapotty. This would all be fine if we were paying a comparable price. Other campgrounds I've stayed at have had similar situations, but I paid no more than $20 for those. Just down the road, we stayed at Grand Isle State Park for $28 ($20 for VT residents) and they had bathrooms, sinks, and spigots (not to mention great views of the lake and very friendly staff).
This place is really great. The tent sites down by the river are gorgeous and very quiet. The outdoor shower is heavenly. The owner is laid back and flexible. Close to Burlington/Winooski but also easy to access lots of hiking and outdoor activities. And the price is very reasonable. Stay here!
The owner, Dunlap, is very prompt and also relaxed. As long as you respect his property he will certainly respect you. Very easy drive to and from the site to Burlington, also extremely affordable rates for a gorgeous, peaceful, clean and quiet campground. I will definitely be returning!!
This place is a little hidden gem! After looking around for a campground over Fourth of July weekend that wasn't booked and could take our dog, we stumbled across this campground and we're glad we did. It's an Adult Only Eco campground and the environment is very laid back. Dunlap the owner was more than happy to have us and set us up on the lake which was private and perfect for our dog to run around. We stayed three nights for $25/night. It's about 20 mins from Burlington and 35 mins from Stowe. It's also right next to Lake Champlain islands so you can drive up those where there are state parks and more to explore. There's an outdoor shower and only a portapotty but we made it work. Dunlap suggested many local places for us to check out that ended up being great. Would definitely New the place in mind next time we're up in the area!
