Beautiful area with monster pines and plenty of rocks to climb. Many trails to the ridge line and epic views all the way to the Pacific Ocean.
This is a great camping spot! I could stand in one spot taking pictures all day! Quiet, relaxing and beautiful. I stayed in the Reyes Peak Campground at an elevation of 7,000. I would only recommend tent/camper camping. The road up is pretty narrow. Bring lots of water and trash bags you have to pack out your trash. No trash bins. A couple compost toilets. No running water.
I stayed at site 7 about .25 up the road. It was fcfs and i was just driving down the road and found it to be open. I prefer a secluded spot and usually don’t camp in campgrounds but this was far away from other people and very quiet. Be prepared for an overwhelming amount of flies if you’re there in the summer.
Very peaceful and beautiful. We just went to explore and found this gem. Not easy to get to but definitely worth it.
Tried to camp this weekend, but because of wild fires, no fires allowed except for stove :( Would return in Summer, nice spot though
