Great place to fish, hike, camp, bbq, mountain bike and so much more. Your Utah state park pass won’t work here, neither will your national park pass. You still need to pay an entrance fee. But it is much cooler here than in Washington county Utah during the summer. I highly recommend this for family day trips or short outings. There is a restroom in the first parking lot on your left after you enter the park.
Pine Valley offers some truly majestic mountain scenery just a short drive from St George - a great respite from the heat in the warmer months and a great place for fall foliage when the lower elevations are still baking. There is a great network of paved walking trails that circle the reservoir. A great number of locals fish here - from what I could tell they were catching quite a bit!
Gorgeous valley with lots of water and green meadows. Wonderful place if you like to fish or go for a peacefully walk. If you like to dip feet in the creek as you enjoy sunset ,it will do as well. Much cooler than surrounding area but summer tends to be over 90F up there. By end of the summer there is tons of cows wondering around meadow. They make a bit of noise at night but it's quickly forgotten as you look at surroundings. Love it!!
I’d almost rather not post a review so that this place remains a hidden gem! It was an absolute lovely camping weekend on these beautiful grounds. Wonderful camping spot and nice camp hosts. Well spaced out, no hook ups. The lake had some great fishing (trout). The trails around were really nice and easy to just wander about. We (surprisingly) saw no wildlife but did hear the coyotes at night.
Such a great, peaceful place. The weather is great especially if you are trying to get away from the Las Vegas heat. It would be gorgeous with all the snow in the winter. There is a nice little pond that people were fishing in. There is also a 100% paved trail that you can hike or bike. You can also go camping here. We will definitely be back!
