Customer Reviews
Changing plans, we had escaped the southern snow and ice the third week of January 2025. We were making our way to Texas along the Gulf and made a reservation at Pineglen. I think everyone was surprised our HDT with 42-foot 5th wheel fit. We loved the pine trees. We loved the friendliness of the staff and the RV community for our short stay. We loved spending time at an empty beach and a nearly empty pier because of cooler temperatures. Being from the north, the weather was comfortable for us.
We won't be back. The staff was nice and check in was easy, but the place is not kept up. All the bushes and trees overgrown. It's nothing a weed eater and lawnmower couldn't fix. We stayed by the 2 ponds but the weeds were so high the bugs were all over us. I love to sit outside, but couldn't. Also, spots are small and close and right on top of your neighbor.
Pineglen Motorcoach and RV Park (Nov 2024, 30 day stay) Pros: Clean and well maintained small older park. Very large grass Dog Potty Area and Play area. Clean Laundry Facility and unheated Pool. Courteous Staff. Lots of Pine Trees for shade and some wind protection. Site Power, Water and Sewer were good. Reasonably quiet at rear of the park, some Hwy 98 noise from sirens and large trucks. Does have WiFi….sort of. Cell Service for Verizon is good. Restrooms were clean. Budget friendlier compared to other higher end PCB RV Resorts. Cons: Challenging Ingress/Egress from Hwy 98 under construction, driveway into Pineglen is torn up and abrupt drop-offs and potholes from lack of being filled by construction crews or Pineglen. The widening of Hwy 98 may make crossing several lanes of heavy traffic with an RV even more challenging. Roads and sites in Pineglen are loose gravel, staff rakes the gravel with a tractor several times a week causing dust to fly. Speed limit is 5mph in the park and not enforced by staff, staff biggest culprit of speeding with UTVs and tractor kicking up dust and rocks as they go by. Vehicles also speed especially on back road behind pull-through sites, rocks and dust everywhere. Shrubs are not cut back, shrub in our site’s sitting area was 10’ in diameter leaving little area to sit and be able to see anything. Most pull through sites are not long enough for combination rigs making tow vehicle parking a challenge. WiFi is terrible, at 5AM download speed bested at 6Mbps upload speed was 1Mbps, it’s the typical just so we can advertise a WiFi system. As soon as others started hitting the WiFi speeds dropped to near nothing and would drop out. System went completely down several times during our 30 day stay. The DirecTV cable at our site never worked the whole 30 days we were there. There are some Over the Air Stations for antenna users as we had to. Pine Straw falls continuously so expect Pine Straw in/on everything. For a good laugh, have a look at the “Dog Wash” amenity. If you have a dog and it rains you may have a muddy feet issue to contend with as we did due to the gravel/dirt roads. This is an older park that needs investment, paving the driveway and interior roads would be a huge improvement. Cutting back all the shrubbery to a reasonable size and shape would also go along way. Enforce the speed limit. Install WiFi that actually works reliably and with much greater bandwidth. We were left with the impression that the absentee park owner was waiting for a buyer hence no real improvements or investment being made. It is being maintained. Our 4 month stay next winter will be elsewhere in PCB.
We stayed here for Thunder Beach fall rally, Site 45. Absolutely loved our stay. It's the perfect balance of wooded but easy to navigate. Lots of big rigs, 5th wheels, motorhomes etc. it's not an old park, it's mature. The trees are tall, shade is abundant, everything about the park is well established. All the utilities were good, no issues at the sites, but they did have a water line somewhere on the property break. They sent out an email before turning nthe water off for repairs, only two hours. We didn't even notice anything happened. Our site was perfect, better than we had hoped with our back porch hanging over the water, so I could fish from the porch. If you are looking for a modern campground that is a concrete oasis, in a field with no shade, this isn't the right one. But if you want a beautiful wooded setting, in nature, this is the were you want to be. The management has changed in February of 24 and the current managers are doing an awesome job of righting this ship. The service was on point, they were very accommodating for showing up a day early, but after business hours. They got us squared away with a simple phone call. Once I was sure we weren't talking gonna make it on time, I called and left a message, they had an email sent to me at the same time they returned my phone call in just a few minutes assuring us everything was handled and not to worry. Upon arrival, everything was exactly as we were told, and we got in with no issues at all. All the sites are very close to, if not completely level. They were very accommodating for a bike rally with tow vehicles, trailers and motorcycles. They have a big field on the property for overflow parking, trailers, etc. we left our truck in the field and kept the bikes at our site. They welcomebtoy haulers etc but ask you stay respectful, no revving engines, loud parties etc. Everyone that stayed followed the rules, and we had a great stay. The camp ground was the perfect escape from the loud bands and rukus of the bike rally while still being close enough to only be a min away from the fun. The new managers are doing a great job of turning this place around. They must be RVers themselves because they get it. They know what matters and are willing to help any way they can. Be very weary of old reviews, they don't in any way represent the new operations, nor the experience we had. Absolutely will be booking this place again.
Wonderful place. Very organized, clean and friendly staff and campers. I think everyone has a dog. Lol
