Beautiful wide open views at the boat ramp area. The lakeside trail takes you to the natural center on one side and the boat house and beyond on the other side. It’s flat and easy but could be a little bit wet sometimes. Picnic tables are conveniently located by the lake. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy nature with lots of outdoor activities like kayaking, canoeing, boating, fishing, hiking. You can see maple syrup harvesting starts from early spring on the trail near the nature center. There is a park entrance fee per vehicle: Carroll County Residents $6, non residents $12, all seniors 62 and over are free
Went here for a day trip with family. We got a paddle boat, checked out the nature center and the playgrounds. We were so impressed by the nature center. It is very much like a small museum, perfect for school age children. The paddle boat trip was an excellent workout!
It was so nice out we decide to go walk around the park. Made our way down to the water and found a bench in a shady quiet spot. Enjoyed water the kayakers and other boaters. Watched a snake swim around in the water…just glad he stayed IN the water. Saw lots of deer and other wildlife.
This place is very big and absolutely beautiful! I hiked this yesterday and will be taking my teen daughter and younger son tomorrow. It also has jungle gyms and play areas for younger kids. You do have to pay 12 dollars if a non Carroll County resident but it's well worth it. Pavilions are also available to rent for parties and such, it's a very nice place to enjoy nature.
Beautiful park. Spend the day enjoying the outdoors. Explore the nature center and the beautiful views. Rent a kayak or boat for as little or as much time as u want. There is something for everyone to enjoy. Bring a book, walk, fish, boat, kayak, or just relax. Be sure to bring food and drinks. Piney Run does not offer any food. I was hoping for a food truck on-site, but unfortunately, there were none. I hope the park will consider partnering with some vendors in the future. This could be a great draw to the park. "Food trucks in the park" has a nice ring to it. I would attend an event like this. I would also be willing to visit the park more often and stay longer. Sometimes, it's all about the convenience for me. If you are a Carroll County resident, it's $6 to enter. Non-residents are $12. This price is per vehicle. Get outdoors and support your local parks!
