**📜 Introduction / Overview: Camp History and Convenience in the Heart of Nebraska**
For Nebraska residents and visitors alike, **Pioneer Village Campground** offers a truly unique camping experience that doubles as a direct gateway to one of the state’s most significant historical attractions: the **Harold Warp Pioneer Village Museum**. Located in the charming community of Minden, this campground is celebrated for its sheer convenience and shaded environment, making it a perfect, affordable stopover for travelers passing through the Great Plains.
The campground’s primary allure is its **unbeatable location**, situated immediately adjacent to the 20-acre museum complex. This means you can park your RV or pitch your tent and walk directly into a fascinating journey through Americana, showcasing the "progress of man" from the 1830s to the present. The campground provides essential services, including a mix of utility options for RVs and grassy areas for tent camping, all nestled under mature trees that offer welcome shade. While guests note that the facilities are "older," they are generally well-kept and functional. It’s a quiet, practical, and highly convenient basecamp that allows you to easily explore the museum, the surrounding Kearney County attractions, and the unique spirit of Minden, Nebraska—known proudly as "The Christmas City."
**🗺️ Location and Accessibility: Right Off the Highway**
**Pioneer Village Campground** is centrally and conveniently located in **Minden, Nebraska (68959)**, at the intersection of US Highway 6/34 and Nebraska Highway 10. This prime location makes it extremely accessible for travelers on major routes across the state, including those heading south from I-80 (Exit 279).
The most significant aspect of its location is being physically *next door* to the Harold Warp Pioneer Village Museum. This proximity means that campers can enjoy the museum's 50,000-plus historical artifacts without needing to use their car—a huge benefit for visitors planning a multi-day visit to the museum. While the campground is considered a little older, its easy access directly off a major highway (US-6) and its placement within the museum complex make it an effortless destination to find. The registration process is integrated with the museum: campers typically pay for their stay at the Museum entrance, highlighting the strong connection between the two facilities.

The campground is older but well kept. It is next door to the Pioneer Village therefore no car is need to visit the village. I will stay there again even if I don't visit the Pioneer Village.
Mostly grass sites with overgrown and barely visible gravel pads. Lots of shade. Pad #25 slopes to one side. Conveniently located if you're visiting the museum.
We are so glad that we stopped at this campground and Museum that we had heard about. The campground is nice and roomy with beautiful shade trees. Mary was super friendly and very accommodating. We have a 35" fifth wheel and have plenty of room with ample space between sites. The museum is AMAZING!! You really need a minimum of 2 days to see it all. I wished that we would have booked a week. We will most definitely come back and spend more time.
The campground has been there for awhile, but they are building a new campground to accommodate the bigger trailers, to the north of the campground they have now.
What a great place to stay. Off the beaten path. Wonderful camp host. Thank you Mary! The best part was visiting Pioneer Village. The amount of history in those buildings is astounding. What a hidden gem! I wish all children could tour here and learn about American history! This is a place to revisit. No way to see it all in one day! Can’t wait to come back!
