We stayed here during the Thanksgiving week camping. We was out next to the water. What an amazing site to wake up in each morning. Water pressure was great. The park was a little slow so I would suggest a water regulator. Power was constant. Tim that works the swing shift guard gate was amazing. They just don't make people like that anymore. Very helpful on the experience. We will definitely be back.
Service was great. Pizza was good. I do wish they had more craft beer options on tap or in a can.
We used the RV side with full hookup. Great sites and a ton of trails. If you enjoy fishing then bring your pole!
This RV resort looks good on the website, with old pictures of when it was opened, but not in person. The place is dated and not maintained. The signs are old and look burnt, the roads are awful, and there is trash at the campsites and beaches. Power would go out every morning for a few minutes. Pages of rules that are not enforced. The 15 mph speed limit is a joke. 2 cars were drag racing for days on the peninsula road, probably 70+ mph. Everyone’s dogs just run around and no one cleans up after them. No fireworks, that’s a joke. The majority of people had fireworks for New Year's. Quiet hours start around 3 am until then you can expect loud music, drunk people yelling, and ATVs driving through your site. Watch out for the fees. In addition to the site cost, there is a reservation fee, utility fee, resort fee, lease fee, pet fee, and toy fee. Fire pits are prohibited unless you rent one for $25 a day plus a $125 deposit. Honestly, the only thing this place has going for it is that it is one of the only places around where you can back your RV right up to the water and have access to the off-roading trails. The staff is great, friendly, and helpful. For those reasons, it gets at least a star. For the cost of a night's stay, this place should be a luxury resort, but it ranks among the lowest campgrounds we have ever stayed at. The owners need to update and maintain this place instead of just collecting money like they are. Maybe they should enforce some rules instead of letting it be a party all-night place that drives away families.
I can only speak on the peninsula camping area and OHV trails. I have been coming here for about 5 years now with a group that has been coming longer than I. We always camp and have a boat for the group. This year I rented from JV trailers and brought my own RZR out. The trailer was perfect for my family and I, and was set up before we pulled into camp. We will for sure come back.
