The RV spots are on the small side and packed close together. The doggy park has bags and poop scoops with provided trash barrels but they don’t pick up the trash very often and there is no water for the area so bring your own. There is a nice walking path along the beach next to the river and a bar in the campground prices on the medium side. Currently the clientele is on the older scale since it is snowbird season. So far all the staff have been nice and helpful. Over all unless you off-road a lot there isn’t much to do here so we were ready to leave after week 2. It’s hard to distinguish the line between pirates den and the la Paz county campground.
We had a few beers at the bar. Tried the pulled pork sliders at $2.00 each x4 and a jumbo pretzel. Happy hour special from 3-6pm. Friendly staff, great view of the Colorado River.
Absolutely horrific. Staff is weird, we were given permission to park boat, truck, and trailer in the overflow parking by management. Todd or Tom in maintenance began to harass us for parking because he lives there and threatened to tow the set up. A complaint was made to management to only find Tom or Tod randomly showing up and slowly driving by our RV site taking pictures on his phone. BE AWARE
"AWESOME"!!!!,... We were informed of Pirates Den/Black Pearl by a stranger while visiting family in Parker! "This place was GREAT"!!! Nickie was spectacular! The Hostess, (Lisa?? Lynne??) VERY Hospitable! Food was Delicious! Price was Fare!! Atmosphere was Great! DEFINITELY BE BACK!! ...... Thank You!!
Great place to stop and get a drink or eats. Little pricey on some items, but you have to expect that being right on the river. And if you're an old school minitrucker, the memories of being back at the location of the world famous river runs, is just the icing on the cake.
