Good for kids
Probably the most popular campground in the entire canyon. All sites are dispersed with an outhouse. The area is serene, it is surrounded by 100'+ lodgepole pine trees, the ground is covered in pine needles and spring fed creek on the side.
This is a fun campground within a grove if Ponderosa Pines. There are a couple streams through the area that are great for little kids. There is a restroom area but no running water or trash bins there so you need to bring in your own water and carry out your trash. As far as I know it is first come first serve and the area offered a lot of shade which was nice. There are as ATV trails all over the place and done lead to done really pretty overlooks. Others dead end at a hiking trail which is great if you like to hike. If there is no room left at Plantation Flat there are spots to camp before and after the grove that are still really nice.
