Plum Valley Campground Introduce
Plum Valley Campground offers a unique and adventurous camping experience nestled in the serene environment of Davis Creek, California. Located in a picturesque valley surrounded by nature, this campground provides an ideal setting for those seeking to disconnect from urban life and immerse themselves in the great outdoors.
Plum Valley Campground is situated along a gravel road that eventually becomes dirt and tire tracks leading deep into the woods. The 3.5-mile journey rewards visitors with a peaceful location away from civilization, perfect for nature enthusiasts. The campground features clean vault toilets, fire pits, and picnic tables, making it a functional base for outdoor adventures.
One of the standout features of Plum Valley Campground is its proximity to a flowing stream that runs through the area. This natural element adds to the charm of the location, offering opportunities for fishing or simply enjoying the soothing sounds of water. The presence of obsidian in the river further highlights the unique geological aspects of the site.
Visitors should be aware that this is bear country, and there are no trash bins, running water, or cell service available on-site. It's essential to come prepared with water, food supplies, and a trash bag for proper waste disposal. Due to the remote location, downloading maps beforehand is recommended as GPS signals may be limited.
Plum Valley Campground provides a rustic yet convenient camping experience with spartan facilities designed to cater to those looking to enjoy nature without modern amenities. The campground is ideal for adventurous travelers willing to trade convenience for the opportunity to explore untouched wilderness and connect with nature.

Beautiful spot, clean vault toilets, a stream that runs through the campground as well. The sign says bear country and no cell service, trash, or water, so come prepared. Bring water, food, trash bag, and download your maps before coming if you can, because you cannot use Google maps out here. I would also gas up as there are a couple of stretches out here where gas is not available for quite a distance. There is obsidian in the river also.
Be aware this is nearly inaccessible without a car designed for off roading. A gravel road eventually turns into just dirt and tire tracks that lead to the woods. Even then, you still have 3 1/2 miles to go. We unfortunately never made it there
Quiet and small campground, tucked into the foothills right next to the creek. Tall, mature pine trees throughout, so it's very shady and stays very dark at nights. Only one other family was camping there during our stay, and it doesn't seem to be too popular, but the sites are very close together. There is open range grazing all around the campground, and it's one way in and out. Pit toilets were clean and stocked, no trash cans so pack your stuff out. I give it four stars for being very secluded, clean, and free. One star off for the sites being so close to each other.
One of the best parks so far I have found in Cali. The pit toilets were well kept and there were 2 sets of them on the premises. Each camp spot had a fire ring and a table. The creek runs right thru the camp. The price is also unbeatable. One note of caution if your vehicle is lower than stock you will not make it into the camp with some rocks and roots that will tear out some important bits of your rig. Seclusion is hard to find and we found it here!
