Plymouth Rock Campground is a popular destination, particularly for those attending events at nearby Road America. According to customer reviews, the campground is clean and offers nice sites. It features three pools, a hot tub, and a mini-golf course, providing ample recreational opportunities. However, the campground's resort-like atmosphere also presents some challenges. One significant concern is the heavy golf cart traffic, with reports of speeding despite the posted 10 mph speed limit, which can be a safety hazard, especially for families with young children. The pool areas, while designated as no-smoking, often see adults using vape pens, which can be unpleasant for other guests. Seasonal campers engage in brush burning on Fridays, creating smoke clouds. The campground's proximity to Road America can also result in significant noise, particularly during racing events. Despite these concerns, the staff is consistently praised for being friendly and helpful. The mini-golf course is free and well-maintained, and the bathrooms are clean. Potential visitors should research Road America's schedule before booking to avoid excessive noise. Overall, Plymouth Rock Campground offers a resort-style experience with various amenities, but potential safety and atmosphere concerns should be considered.

Plymouth Rock Campground offers a resort-style camping experience with various amenities, making it appealing to many campers, especially those attending events at Road America. However, potential visitors should be aware of the safety concerns related to golf cart traffic, the atmosphere at the pools, and the potential for noise from nearby events. If you are comfortable with these potential issues and are looking for a campground with numerous amenities, Plymouth Rock Campground might be a suitable option. But if you prioritize a quiet and safe environment, you may want to consider alternative locations.

Customer Reviews
Love camping here for all of our events at Road America. Very clean campground with nice sites. The pools (yes they have 3) and hot tub are nice and everyone is friendly and helpful.
Great place for kids, and at the same time, not a great place for kids. If you have young children, camp with some caution in mind. It’s a resort; while there are so many fun things to do, there is A LOT of golf cart traffic. The posted speed limit is 10mph, but you’ll have carts and cars zoom past you well above that all weekend long, so be mindful. The 3 amazing pools are no-smoking, but adults of all kinds will sit there with their vape pens in the pool, puffing clouds, as your kids are trying to enjoy the water, so find a spot upwind and realize society has just become ignorant and selfish. The seasonal sites, on Friday, “clean-up” for the weekend, and burn their brush, so when you are setting up or going for a nice stroll to the park, steer clear of the clouds of brush and lawn-waste smoke the bellows for a few hours. On other notes, the staff is very nice. Every encounter I had with them was pleasant, always had a smile and offered information freely and friendly. Mini-Golf is free and is a nice course, all the parks are fun for kids of all ages and all the bathrooms were clean. Lastly, research Road America’s schedule before booking. We picked a weekend that was loud all day (8am to the evening) racing some loud cars. Vintage days and public track days are better as the noise levels won’t be so distracting. Happy Camping!
Camped in a trailer. Power voltage dropped below 100. No one came to look at it until multiple calls and days later. Solution was an extension cord to another site. Was not offered another site because Thousand Trails did not have another site available even though the campground had over 30 empty sites in just our area alone. Felt like we were not worth their time and consideration until days later when Keith the maintenance man appeared and showed some compassion and gave us the extension cord.
Huge campground with 2 pools and lots of activities. Nice wooded sites large enough to be away from other campers. They were great with keeping us informed about arrival details via text and email. Maybe a little too much informed. There were quite a few texts and emails.
Stayed October 2023 Things we liked: -They held events and activities like movies and music - Multiple playgrounds -Basketball Courts - They had multiple pools and even kept one running while we were there in September -Laundry facilities were nice, clean, easy to use -Small but decent mini golf course. Good for our young kids -Sand pit with toys -Some hiking trails -Bathrooms were clean and most had hot water Things we weren’t fond of: - Some things could use updates: one basketball hoop was broken, the pirate park had a lot of missing pieces or broken equipment - We had to use certain showers because one of the showers we used did not have any hot water. Once we found a shower with hot water, it was great! This could be a seasonal issue however because we visited in September when it was pretty chilly. -The Road America race track is very close by and you can hear the engines and races happening from early in the morning to late at night. Summary: We stayed with our Thousand Trails membership for two weeks. The electricity and water hook ups were great. Dump station was near the garbages and easy to use. Lots of seasonal homes here with people who come to party for the races. Also saw some families but we were here late in the season so most kiddos were at school. We would absolutely stay here again. The staff was friendly and helpful and we liked a lot more than we didn’t. We hope to come back in the summer to see the difference in the number of families visiting.
