It's a good place to visit if you need to walk a bit and collect your thoughts. The more time I spend in the woods, the more it helps my personal well-being.

Pokomoke forest is really nice although I've heard and seen some freaky things like a person camping and parked in an out of the way place acting very suspiciously I know people who had rock's thrown at their cars in the middle of the night while driving, Very creepy, gotta wonder who's hiding in the thick dark woods doing these strange things, I wouldn't stop to confront anyone without being armed to protect myself not knowing what's going on with these kinds of folks mentally

Walking with dog and the trail was beautiful and well shaded, which was great for the hot day. As another reviewer noted, be prepared for bugs. I didn't chiggers, but I did get seed ticks EVERYWHERE. I was still picking them off the next day because I just couldn't find them all. Long pants, bug spray. Check yourself (and kids and dogs!). A great natural area, beautiful for sure. I would still go again, just be more prepared.

I love the trail with the trailhead on route 113, a couple miles south of the main entrance, but when I went to walk it last week, I could see that it wasn't maintained all year and was no longer usable. Other trails in the park are poorly maintained as well. That's a shame, because it's a beautiful area.

It's still a rather large mostly forested area in Worcester County. There are some decent places to park your car throughout and go on a little nature walk. The Algonquin trail goes over 12 miles through the pocomoke Forest with many stop-off points. Be careful of the deer when driving all times of the year.
