Point Campground Introduce

Nestled in the heart of Hasty, Colorado, Point Campground offers a unique and memorable camping experience for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you're an RV traveler, a tent camper, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, this campground provides a perfect blend of natural beauty and practical amenities.

Point Campground is known for its clean and well-maintained facilities, ensuring a comfortable stay for all visitors. The campground features spacious campsites with ample distance between them, allowing for privacy and a sense of tranquility. While the area is treeless and subject to rapidly changing weather conditions, it adds to the charm and adventure of the experience. Visitors often describe the weather as unpredictable, with moments of wind, heat, rain, and sunshine all within a short span. This makes it essential to come prepared with the right gear and attire.

For your convenience, the campground offers a portable restroom, and there are nearby stores where you can purchase essentials like water, snacks, bait, and more. If you're tent camping, the grassy areas on the other side of the campground provide a more comfortable setup, complete with electricity and flushing restrooms. Most campers opt for RVs, trailers, or tent trailers, making Point Campground a versatile destination for all types of travelers.

One of the highlights of visiting Point Campground is its proximity to the reservoir, offering stunning views and a serene atmosphere. Remember to stop by the ranger station to purchase a day-use permit, which is required for each day of your visit and expires the following day at noon.

Get the awesome experience of camping in a treeless campground where it’s windy, hot, raining, dry, and weather changing within minutes. There is good distance between the campsites. We arrived in the evening during a thunderstorm with 30 mph winds. The next two days were overcasted and hot. The weather changes rapidly so come prepared with the right outfit and gear. There is a portable restroom if you need it. Pack WATER accordingly because there isn’t any water nearby except for the reservoir. There are stores nearby to buy water, beer, snacks, bait, and the essentials too. Most campers are in RVs, trailers, and tent trailers. For easier tent camping, go to the other side where there are green grass, electricity, and flushing restrooms. Remember to stop by the ranger station on the way in to buy a day-use permit for each day you are visiting. A day-use permit expires the next day at noon.

The lake was great, camping areas are not bad either. Seen worse public outhouses at camping sites, not the cleanest but not the worst. The down side is getting to the lake and what's close to it. There is a massive cattle/manure area about 1mile away so be ready for a terrible smell if coming from town on the dirt road. At the lake it self I didn't seem to smell it as much. Still worth visiting and going boating, fishing, and camping. Specially since it's free.
